Here's how it works:
Q. How to access Trade Lab?
A. You can access Trade Lab to practice trading through FrontPage app, which is available on both Android and iOS devices. Simply open the app and **navigate to the “Trade Lab” tab located in the bottom footer.
Note :** Trade Lab is currently undergoing upgrades for the web version and trades cannot be placed via Website at the moment.
**Q. How is my total portfolio value calculated?**
A. Total portfolio value is the sum of:
1. Your unused margin (which includes P&L from your exited trades)
2. Margin used towards inactive (waiting to enter) trades
3. The market value of your active trades
So, in the beginning, your total portfolio value is only the initial margin . As you place trades this value may go up or down depending on the performance of your trades.
**Q. What kinds of instruments are currently tracked?**
A. Trade Lab currently tracks cash, futures & options traded on NSE/NFO listed equities & MCX listed commodities. If you have a suggestion for a certain type of asset that you want to be tracked, please do contact @frontpagesupport.
**Q. What can I do with a trade once posted?**
A. The following options are available via Modify and Exit buttons :
- **Modify Entry Price:** If you do use an entry price for your trade, and the trade hasn’t ‘entered’ or isn’t active yet, you can modify the entry price to LTP or any other price.
- **Exit:** You can exit a trade at any point after it is submitted. The P&L of the trade will be calculated using the LTP at the time of exit. You can use this option if you want to book your profits or losses earlier than the target or stop loss.
- **Extend Target:** If you believe that your trade can run more for higher targets, you can use this option. e.g. from 110 to 115.
- **Trail Stoploss:** You can use this option to trail your stop loss to secure profit.
- **Extend Timeframe:** You can increase the timeframe of a trade at any point before its expiry.
- **Exit Multiple Trades:** Simply long-press any active position to select multiple trades or choose 'Select All' to exit them simultaneously.
**Q. What happens to a trade that does not “enter” i.e. entry price is not crossed?**
A. *Entry price is optional.* If you do not specify an entry price, the trade becomes active immediately on submission at LTP. If you do give an entry price, a trade does not become *active* unless the entry price is reached at some later point.
*Should the entry price not be met,* you have the option to activate the trade immediately by modifying entry price and selecting 'Use LTP'.
**Q. How to monitor trades?**
After initiating a trade, you can keep track of your trades through two main tabs:
1. **Positions Tab**
- This tab displays all your open positions. These are the trades that are either awaiting entry or have been executed but not yet closed.
- Here, you can view the available and invested margin, as well as the unrealised total portfolio and positions P&L. For each open position, specific information is available, including instrument name, quantity, entry price, current market price, and unrealised profit/loss.
- Easily modify or exit trades by tapping on any open position within this tab.
2. **Performance Tab**
- Completed trades are listed under this tab.
- It showcases a comprehensive overview of your trade history, including closed positions, realised profits/losses, entry and exit prices, dates and overall performance metrics.
- You can analyze past trades, evaluate your trading strategy, and assess your overall performance through this section.
**Q. Can I engage in real trading on FrontPage?**
